IMPORTANT: Scheduled Service Interruption (2200-2400hrs AEDT, Thursday 24 November 2022)
Upcoming outage notification
Message for RIW System Users
A Rail Industry Worker System Update has been scheduled for 24 November 2022 to finalise a small number of fixes and improvements following the system release last month.
Service Interruption
START Thursday 24 November 2022, 2200hrs AEDT
END Thursday 24 November 2022, 2400hrs AEDT
What services will be affected?
The following services will be unavailable during the outage:
Kiosks, Tablets and Turnstiles (can be used in offline mode)
How can you prepare for the outage?
If you are a Contractor In Charge of a site or manage the swiping of workers into site, a bit of preparation prior to the interruption may assist.
Ensure you know who will be working at your site on the night of Thursday 24 November 2022 between the service interruption window.
Consider sending an association request to cardholders if they do not hold a relationship with you. This will give you advance visibility of their suitability to meet site requirements.
Ensure you have available any RIW System reports that may assist you in verifying competencies, job roles etc.
Consider an alternative method of access control during the interruption if recording of cardholder attendance is required.
The majority of release items are small fixes and improvements including:
Updating the mobile phone number field to be mandatory when creating a new Rail Industry Worker profile or registering a visitor. A mobile phone number will also be required when an existing Rail Industry Worker edits their contact details in myRIW.
Updating a Rail Industry Worker profile when viewed on the RIW App and Web Card Reader to include their mobile phone number and emergency contact details to support onsite safety management.
Improving the onscreen instructions on failed login attempts when a user logs into the RIW or myRIW System, directing users to reset their password before their account is locked.
