Employer Administrator Update #2

The Rail Industry Worker Program (RIW) provides a national competency framework for rail workers across Australia. The program is owned by the Australasian Railway Association (ARA) and powered by service provider Metro Trains Australia (MTA).

LATEST DATA MIGRATION COMPLETED

MTA and its technology partners have been working hard to analyse and map the latest data migration from the Pegasus system into the new RIW system. This data will significantly reduce the volume of missing workers, job roles, competencies and medical certificates in the new system. The recently migrated evidence files are currently being virus checked to further ensure the integrity of the system. When clicking on a recently migrated file, access will be granted once the virus check is completed.

MTA has been striving for some time to obtain this information and we anticipate that the latest data migration will reduce the burden on industry employers moving forward. Now that the quality of information has been enhanced within the system, there should be less rework required. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and support during the transition to the new system and smartcards.

Please remember that you can seek assistance from our 24/7 service desk by emailing info@riw.net.au or submitting a website service request form. Alternatively, you can call 1300 101 682.

HAVE YOU VISITED OUR WEBSITE?

You’ll find a wealth of information and guidelines at www.riw.net.au including key information for employers, videos, quick guides and FAQs. We’ll continue to update the web site as we grow and develop the system, with the goal of delivering long term benefits to the rail industry.
