Rail Industry Worker – URGENT message for Rail Industry Workers – Permission Access Agreement

YOU MUST ACCEPT THE
PERMISSION ACCESS AGREEMENT
BY 30 JUNE 2020
TO REMAIN ACTIVE IN THE RIW SYSTEM

WHAT IS THE PERMISSION ACCESS AGREEMENT (PAA)?
The PAA provides information about what type of data is collected about you for the RIW Program, how it gets used and shared.

HOW DO I ACCEPT THE PAA?
You accept the PAA by creating a myRIW account and agreeing to it the first time you login to myRIW. To create your account you’ll need your RIW number, which is *|MMERGE5|*, and your personal details such as name and date of birth. These details must match what is on your RIW profile. If you need to verify these details, please contact your Employer.

Another way to accept the PAA is to use your RIW card by signing into site via an Access Controller, or having your card spot checked. This automatically approves the PAA on your behalf.

WHAT IF I MISS THE DEADLINE?
If you do not use your card or create a myRIW account by 30 June 2020, then you will not have authority to work as your RIW profile will be made inactive. To be made active again, you will need to be sent an employment request by a company, which you must accept by creating a myRIW account and accepting the Permission Access Agreement.

WHAT IF I DECLINE THE PAA?
If you decline the PAA, then your RIW profile, including all your competency and medical history, will be deleted from the RIW System. This is irreversible. Please check with your Employer before declining the PAA.
